Helen G - Has anyone come across any companies that sell cheap fibre optics and lightsources? Trying to see if anywhere sells them cheaper than the likes of Rompa, Spacekraft and Sensory plus. Also seeing if anyone sells the Mathmos space projector cheaper than the main catalogues

What ever you buy try to get the plastic optics and LED light sources they are much safer. Most of the sensory companies will sell these at around the same price. However you could do a Google for 'acrylic sideglow fibre optics' but ignore companies like 'NTC' and 'Fibre Options' as they sell the wrong kind of optic. Try www.absolute-action.com are the kind of company you are looking for. Also http://www.starceiling.co.uk/sensory.html I did not read all the site but they may be worth a look, they mention DIY optics?

Be careful what you purchase from companies without some substance and history Helen. Or DIY optics could take on a whole new meaning. I appreciate to some, the sensory company\'s prices can seem too high for limited budgets. However, opt for an LED lightsource if you can as it will not need the \'on-cost\' of replacing bulbs that a traditional one will. And as Richard suggests, the plastic fibre optics will also prove safer and easier to maintain. Reducing your future overhead too.I believe the Mathmos projectors are much of a muchness price wise. Although you may have success online. www.sensoryplus.co.uk
